Coromandel is sought out by artists and crafts people as a place to complete their works. This, combined with the gold mining and bush working history, add to the uniqueness of Coromandel. Fishing has always been popular, whether by boat out amongst the offshore islands, or from the rocks along the beautiful coastline.
In recent years there has been an increase in multi-sport events, giving competitors the opportunity to test their skills and endurance amongst the natural beauty of the Coromandel area.
